And some non-quilting progress

While I'm procrastinating on my quilting projects, I have finished 2 baby blankets (1 crochet, one knit) and finishing a second cardigan/sweatshirt for my kids.

One of the crochet blankets I made:
The blanket is crochet, the hat is knit with "crab stitch trim" and crochet flower.
Yarn used: Dark Horse Fantasy

A new quilt

This quilt was started a while ago.
But... as it usually goes, I had other projects to finish, then I needed more fabric, then I decided to go with another blender.
I have 14 (out of 35) blocks needed for this quilt.

But I had to play with the blocks a little...

I simply love the flow of the waves and how the shades of purple/lilac/ play together.

Now I can wait to finish it and quilt it with these free-form flowing waves.

Blocks I have so far.

The Finisher...

This nap mat with matching pillow was started in 2006 for my second son's 3 rd birthday.
It's 2010 and it was finished last week. What needed to be done? Just hand-sewing the binding.
Why did it take so long? No idea! But I finished it just in time for my youngest 3rd birthday:
Of course, it has someone's name on it, but when you are playing house, who cares, right?

Fabric Used: Kona Solid, Assorted Juvenile Prints, Sesame Street Print, flannel for backing
Batting: Warm and Natural, unbleached
Embroidery Design: Amazing Designs Sesame Street
Equipment: Singer Sewing Machine and
Brother PE-150 Embroidery Machine

Each Solid Square was embroidered with a different Sesame Street character.

Doll Quilt

This is a first ever doll quilt I made.
I chose to use big blocks of color because I really need to practice my free-motion technique and every square was quilted with a different design.
The print is Kaffe Fasset Millefiore in Pastel.

My favorite free-motion quilted block. Is started out as a
"Flowing Glass" design, but morphed into an underwater scene.

Princess Quilt Top Progress

An update on Princess Quilt.
The borders are done, need to finish the crowns, layer and quilt!

I'm planning on quilting with clear nylon thread and sew on beads for crowns, tower toppers and bead the carriage.

Finished!

This baby quilt is the first one of 3! baby girl quilts I have to make.

The colors were requested (pink and chocolate), the quilt was lined with cotton batting, and backed with pink flannel for warmth.

Machine quilted on my Bernina Activa PE 230 with a darning foot and I used decorative stitching for sashing.

Fabrics used:
Fabric Central charm pack "Sassy", Kona Cotton in Espresso.
